About Robert

Robert holds an M.A. in philosophy, cosmology and consciousness from the California Institute of Integral Studies. His graduate studies focused on the history and evolution of consciousness, mysticism and transpersonal psychology, humanity's relationship with the more-than-human world, and integral theory and practice.

Long an environmental researcher, educator, and philosopher, Andrew eventually turned his passion for transformation inward, focusing on deepening his understanding of the underlying psycho-spiritual roots of our many-faceted global crisis. Andrew's ardent desire to contribute to the fundamental healing of the world led to his exploring bodywork as a medium for helping others to reclaim their natural state of well-being. He has been practing massage professionally for eight years, including four years in Ann Arbor, delighting in the healing it has done for himself as well as for his clients.

In addition to massage, Andrew serves as Associate Editor of Groundcover News, a street newspaper headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and does freelance editing work for a wide range of clients. He plays music regularly, and is a passionate audiophile of classical music and opera. His many other interests and activities include: nonviolent communication (NVC), integral theory and education, transformative practice, mindfulness meditation, conscious partnership, intentional community, comparative mysticism, ecopsychology, wilderness therapy, and permaculture.
